The Department of Urology treats patients with urinary tract infections, kidney and urinary tract stones, urinary incontinence, benign and malignant tumours of the kidney, bladder, prostate and testicles, as well as erectile disorders. The department specialises in minimally invasive procedures for kidney stone disease, which affects 10–15% of the general population. Endoscopic techniques including ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy using laser technology achieve above a 90% success rate. Laparoscopic surgeries are also performed for kidney and adrenal gland conditions.
